Submission Requirements
- Eight (8) to ten (10) pages of your memoir. They don’t need to be the first pages.
- A brief personal statement (no more than 350 words) about the story you hope to write and why you think this program will help you.
- The name of a GrubStreet instructor or other writing instructor/mentor who can comment on your writing and/or classroom experience.
- A list of any nonfiction writing classes you’ve taken, and where they were offered.
Tuition and Fellowships
The cost of the program is $2,600 due in full one month before the first day of class. Payment plans are available with 50% due at least one week before the start of class and the rest usually divided across the first two months of the program
In order to be considered for one of our fellowships, you will have the option to fill out the Fellowship Application section at the end of your application to the program. Only one application is necessary to be considered for any of our funding options, and it's a very brief application.
