The Impact of Donor Contributions
Thank you for being a part of our community. Your generosity allows us to deliver the promise of our Center for Creative Writing, reduce barriers to participation, and offer inspiring programs for teens and adults from every neighborhood in Boston and beyond.
Our community of supporters makes sure that GrubStreet's programs are truly accessible to a richly diverse group of writers and readers.
Donor generosity to GrubStreet:
- Supports over 3,000 students each year to engage with GrubStreet through free programs and scholarships.
- Ensures that 80% of classes for teens are provided at no cost to participants and their families.
- Increases funding for the Boston Writers of Color Group for retreats and gatherings in the new center and mentoring, guest artist presentations, and manuscript consultations.
- Helps provide free programming with partner organizations throughout Greater Boston including the Boston Public Library, Chelsea Recreation Department, Boston Public Schools, and more!
- Provides transportation subsidies for more students to reach the Center for Creative Writing.
- Supports bold literary events on the new stage including performances, readings, craft talks, and open mics.
- Keeps classes and programs as accessible as possible so that more writers can participate, as tuition covers only 75% of the cost of GrubStreet’s paid classes.
