Intensives

Looking for greater continuity and an immersive, intensive exploration of craft as you develop and revise a book-length project or collection of stories? Our advanced programs in the novel, memoir, and the short story are a great place to do just that.

Generators

In our Generator programs, students launch their projects and make significant progress towards that completed first draft with the help of a supportive community and regular feedback.

Novel Generator Learn More

A nine-month program designed to help students at all levels complete (or make substantial progress toward completing) a first draft of a novel in an environment that offers support, accountability and feedback appropriate to this early stage in the novel-writing process.

Memoir Generator Learn More

An intensive program designed to help students in the early stages of writing a full-length memoir. The program will provide an environment that encourages exploration and supports the writing process, and it will offer an in-depth study of the book-length memoir form.

In the Incubators, writers with more developed projects focus on refining and revising their drafts in readiness for publication.

Ready to get your novel out into the world? If so, GrubStreet’s competitive and affordable MFA-level course is for you. Over 12 months, writers will revise their novels, study the novel form, and gain a thoughtful introduction to the publishing world.

A competitive, accessible – and repeatable – MFA-level course, spanning 8 months, for ten short story writers from all backgrounds who want to move their stories from “workshop good” to publishable quality.
