Frequently Asked Questions

Masking & Vaccination Policy

I’m a member of GrubStreet. Can I visit the space to write upstairs without registering for a class or event?

Members are invited to come write in the space any time that the Center for Creative Writing is open! Our space is complete with cozy nooks, free wifi, tea and coffee, and printer access. GrubStreet is open 10am-6pm Mondays-Fridays, not including organization-wide and federal holidays.

I’m taking an upcoming in-person class or event. What should I expect when I arrive?

It’s easy! When arriving at the space for a class or event that you have registered for in advance, please use the stairs or take the elevator to the second floor and check-in with the GrubStreet staffer seated at the front desk with your name and the class or event you are attending. After that, you can head into your classroom.

How do I get tested for Covid-19?

In addition to vaccination, masking and social distancing, frequent testing for Covid-19 is another powerful tool to keep our community safe. Whether you’re returning from a trip overseas, exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms or feel you may have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, there are testing sites throughout Massachusetts that are easy to make appointments and are free. You can find the closest testing center for you at the MA COVID-19 Testing site.

At-home Covid-19 tests are now readily available, and you may request reimbursement from your medical insurance. You can find more information on reimbursement and testing sites here: COVID Testing Resources

What kind of mask can provide the most protection?

The CDC has issued their mask recommendations here: CDC Masking Guidance

GrubStreet will have surgical masks available. Please see someone at reception for help.
