Write-A-Thon Update 5/22

Welcome to GrubStreet’s FREE Write-A-Thon Challenge! Over the course of six weeks, from May 14 - June 21, we invite you to dedicate 50 hours to your writing practice.

We hope that your writing hours this week have been filled with momentum and inspiration as we work together to reach our writing goals! We are in awe of the 320 members of our community dedicating themselves to their craft. Stay connected with other Write-A-Thon participants by joining our dedicated Facebook group here. You’ll receive prompts and encouraging nudges as together, we complete our writing hours. The Facebook Group will also be a space for participants to cheer on and celebrate each other.

Tuesday, May 28th is our next co-writing session at GrubStreet’s Center for Creative Writing in Boston from 5:30-7:30 PM. Please make sure to reserve your spot for these writing sessions with fellow participants by clicking here! Snacks will be provided.

Where do you feel most inspired to write? Please send any photos of you in your writing habitat, whether it’s a couch, library, or cafe, to [email protected]. Add a note if you are open to our team sharing your photo on social media.

We are so pleased to share that we’ve raised 37% of our ambitious $20,000 goal, and every dollar raised will directly support GrubStreet's commitment to provide accessible programs that reduce barriers to entry for anyone interested in the craft of writing and storytelling. We’d like to share a special shoutout to our Write-A-Thon participants promoting the Write-A-Thon within their networks and setting personal fundraising goals. If you’d like to help us reach our goal and support our Scholarship Fund in honor of the Write-A-Thon, please click here.

Happy writing!
