Class Description
Are you a teen who likes to write stories and poems? Come find your compatriots in this week-long creative writing camp. We'll have a variety of prompts for multiple genres, writing time, outdoor activities to get our sensory descriptions flowing, and workshop. By the end of the week, you'll have your toolbox full of ideas, beginnings, and some drafts to keep you going all fall. We will also discuss craft (the tools and techniques in poetry and fiction), and the writing process. In addition, we'll discuss the submission process/publication opportunities for teens, and end the week with a reading. Limited to students aged 13-18.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
Grub Street is happy to be able to offer a limited number of full scholarships for our teen writing camps. To apply for a scholarship, please complete and submit this online form describing why you want to take the teen writing camp and detailing your financial need. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is Friday, July 25th at 5pm.
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.

Zoom Participation:
Students are not required to turn their camera on, but are encouraged to participate any way they feel comfortable through functions such as the live chat, emoji reactions, and unmuting the microphone. Learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
We ask that instructors enable closed captioning and send a transcript of the session after class. You can also enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting. If your instructor forgets to send the transcript, just send ’em an email!
