Class Description
It is said that a typical contemporary novel has twelve major scenes. In this course, you will plant the seeds of six novel scenes, some or all of which may end up being "major scenes." You may have a novel in progress or you may be starting out with only an idea. Either way, the goal is to come out of this course with 6 scenes that can carry emotional weight and promise change in the characters. We will discuss both the lessons and your work. This course will include craft lessons, outside readings, writing exercises, and supportive and generative comments on each other's writing.
*Note that while our handy dandy "Schedule" tab states a 6-7pm class time, there are actually no live meetings for this class! Assignments will be given on a weekly basis.
**Students will have access to the online class portal starting at 5pm, February 1st. Instructions for logging onto the online portal will be emailed to registered students before 5pm the first day of class.
