Class Description
Flash fiction is an exciting and increasingly popular story form that pushes its writers to be innovative and concise. In this course for beginning flash fiction writers, you will create six stories (one per week)that are between 25 and 500 words each and inspired by a different prompt. As feedback is a vital part of the course, students will have a weekly opportunity to receive written peer and instructor review of the stories they post for the group, and to use such feedback for redrafting, as they see fit. Expect guidance on crafting this unique form, including weekly examples of published works and ongoing craft discussions. The goal of the course is to write six redrafted flash fiction stories. At the end of the six weeks, students will be invited to submit fresh drafts of their final six stories for instructor feedback.
*Note that while our handy dandy "Schedule" tab states a 6-7pm class time, there are actually no live meetings for this class! Students who register between now and the start of class on Monday will receive their login information on Monday afternoon.
