Class Description

Nowadays, it's not unusual for writers to have a blog. This can be a terrific forum for writers to talk about issues that are important to them, but if handled poorly, a blog can be just another voice in the vast internet sea. How do you get readership for your blog? What should you blog about? Should you start a blog solo or should you team up with other writers? What are the advantages and disadvantages of working with a team of co-bloggers? In this seminar, we will discuss "best practices" for successful blogging. We will look at examples of outstanding blog articles. We will also look at blog pieces that don't quite hit the mark in order to understand what's missing. Students will have time to write and to talk through ideas and will come away with a deeper understanding of how to blog and how to drive internet traffic toward their sites. Please bring your laptop or tablet to the class.

Scholarships Format/Location

In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class.
