About Amy

Amy Silverberg is a writer and comedian based in Los Angeles. Her stories have appeared in Best American Short Stories 2018, The Paris Review, Granta, The Southern Review, The Idaho Review, The Colorado Review, TriQuarterly, New South, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. Amy's debut novel, First Time, Long Time, was published by Grand Central Publishing / Hachette in 2025. Amy holds a PhD in Literature & Creative Writing from USC, where she currently adjuncts. Her interests include short stories (previous classes include "Where to Begin?" Intermediate Workshops, and Advanced Workshops), creating the comedic voice on the page, and transitioning from the short story into the novel (an experience she knows all too well).
