PSB: Worst Bestsellers Podcast, in conversation with Meredith Goldstein

New

Event Description

Porter Square Books is excited to welcome The Worst Bestseller Podcast!

The podcast Worst Bestsellers is celebrating their 300th episode! To celebrate, they're going back to where it all began: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Their very first episode covered Twilight, and now they're planning to re-read it (along with their guest Meredith Goldstein) and see how it holds up. They'll discuss the power of vampire baseball, whether or not ACAB includes Charlie Swan, and all the hottest khaki fashions.

This event starts at 6:30pm.

ABOUT THE WORST BESTSELLERS & MEREDITH GOLDSTEIN

Every other week, Worst Bestsellers' hosts Kait and Renata sit down with a guest for an in-depth discussion of a different book. Book picks cross genres and audiences, touching upon new releases, popular classics, and the zeigiesty titles that everyone seems to be talking about. Through their plot summary and discussion, they attempt to explain what works and doesn't work for them as they try to piece together what makes these titles so popular. While most of the books are chosen with the assumption that they won't be enjoyable, occasionally they like to pick a title representative of a genre to discuss the genre as a whole, and sometimes they even find themselves liking one of the books they were sure they would pan. They can be found at worstbestsellers.com.

Meredith Goldstein is an author, journalist, and the longtime advice columnist at The Boston Globe. Her books include the YA novels Things That Grow and Chemistry Lessons; the angsty wedding novel The Singles; and the memoir Can’t Help Myself, based on her Love Letters column – which also has a popular podcast (now in its 11th season!). Meredith lives in Boston with a carnival-size cotton candy machine and many, many romance novels.
