Event Description

GrubStreet’s yearlong Intensives programs help writers generate, revise, and finally finish their book manuscripts so they’re ready for publication. Whether you’re writing a novel, memoir, essay collection, or short story collection, join us for an informal Q&A with GrubStreet’s Program Director Eson Kim (and occasionally instructors) to learn:

  • How GrubStreet’s Incubators, Generators, and Immersives work together
  • Which program might be right for you
  • How to prepare a strong application
  • What to expect from the Intensives experience

Bring your questions! No matter where you are in the process, the goal is to provide as much information as possible for every writer to find the right path for them, whether it’s a GrubStreet Intensive or something else that might help.

Upcoming Sessions (all via Zoom):

Applications for the Fall 2026-2027 Intensives classes are due in June 2026. Check the individual class pages for specific application due dates. All applicants can expect to hear from us by early August 2026.

Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any further questions.

Format/Location

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. After registering, a yellow Resources tab will appear in this section containing a link to join class. Please note that you will need to be logged into view the Resources tab.

Zoom Participation:

In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.

Zoom Accessibility:

You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
