Dept. of Congrats Spotlight: Rob Macaisa Colgate

GrubStreet is thrilled to congratulate BWOC member Rob Macaisa Colgate. His debut poetry collection, Hardly Creatures, was published by Tin House. You can read the many glowing reviews in the New York Times, Publishers Weekly, Electric Lit, and The Rumpus. Additionally, Rob's verse drama My Love is Water was just released by Ugly Duckling Press.
We asked Rob how his time at GrubStreet influenced his accomplishment:
"Getting a collection of poetry published is as much of an emotional and logistical ordeal as it is a financial one. BWOC's Literary Support program was essential in helping me send out my manuscript freely and widely in order to find the right home for it. There was great relief in knowing I had funds set aside specifically for the purpose of pursuing publication."
