Dept. of Congrats Spotlight: Holly Thompson
GrubStreet is thrilled to congratulate instructor Holly Thompson! Holly's biographical picture book Listening to Trees: George Nakashima, Woodworker was recently published by Neal Porter Books/Holiday House. Holly’s so grateful for the picture book courses she teaches at Grub and the Grub community that always inspires and keeps her honing her craft.
We asked Holly how her time at GrubStreet influenced her accomplishment:
"Teaching picture book writing at GrubStreet – creating exercises and plans, reading tons of picture books to build mentor text lists, developing prompts and assignments, workshopping student drafts, and collectively discovering story development pathways – has grown my love of picture book craft exponentially. I love the GrubStreet ethos and am grateful for the camaraderie, heart and courage shared in GrubStreet picture book classes."
