Announcing Muse 2024 Keynote Speakers - Jonathan Escoffery and Emily St. John Mandel!

We are so excited to share our 2024 author keynotes: Jonathan Escoffery on Friday and Emily St. John Mandel on Saturday!

Jonathan Escoffery is the author of If I Survive You, an international bestseller. The book is a finalist for the 2023 Booker Prize and was a finalist for the 2022 PEN/Faulkner Award, as well as long-listed for the 2022 National Book Award for Fiction. The New Yorker calls it "a ravishing debut . . . [Escoffery's] stories stress the ebullience, the possibility, that can emerge from in-betweenness.”

Emily St. John Mandel is the author of six novels, most recently the bestseller Sea of Tranquility. Her previous books include The Glass Hotel and Station Eleven, a finalist for a National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award, among a host of other honors, and aired as a limited series on HBO Max. The New York Times writes that Sea of Tranquility is "one of [Mandel’s] finest novels and one of her most satisfying forays into the arena of speculative fiction yet.”

We’re inspired by how these writers challenge genre and form and push the boundaries of fiction and writing forward, and we can’t wait to listen and learn from them this May! The Muse & The Marketplace national writing conference returns in-person to the Boston Park Plaza Hotel on May 10-12, 2024! You won’t want to miss this jam-packed weekend with 100+ sessions on the craft and business of writing delivered by acclaimed writers and industry experts, opportunities to meet with leading agents and editors, incredible keynote lectures, networking events, flat-out-fun parties, and so much more.

Registration opens for GrubStreet members on November 30, and non-member registration opens shortly after on December 5.
