Big news at GrubStreet! Below is a message from Sharissa Jones, Board Chair of GrubStreet, welcoming Kim Dawson Ohiomoba as GrubStreet’s next Executive Director.

Dear GrubStreet community,

I’m thrilled to announce that Kim Dawson Ohiomoba has been named GrubStreet’s new Executive Director.

Kim joins us at a time when GrubStreet’s mission and community have never mattered more. Freedom of speech is being challenged, arts organizations are losing vital government funding, and community spaces like ours are needed more than ever to gather people together.

Kim brings more than 15 years of experience in arts leadership, fierce commitment to creative advocacy, and a proven record of fundraising success, along with a career-long dedication to equity in the arts and amplifying underrepresented voices. Her leadership in the arts has been recognized nationally by The Aspen Institute and the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. She is also a gifted educator who has taught at Berklee College of Music for five years.

We believe she is the right person for this critical moment in our culture and to lead GrubStreet’s next chapter.

Kim’s appointment follows the announcement from Eve Bridburg, GrubStreet’s beloved founder and current Executive Director, that she will step down at the end of this year. For nearly thirty years, Eve has led GrubStreet with vision, dedication, and passion for expanding access and providing writers the space, time, and resources to develop and share their stories. We are deeply grateful to her and thrilled that she will continue as a trusted advisor and joyful member of our community.

Kim will be starting at GrubStreet for a transitional month this December, and you can expect to hear more from her early in the new year. In the meantime, we’re so grateful for your continued support and participation during this important moment for our community.

With gratitude,
Sharissa Jones
GrubStreet’s Board Chair
