Class Description
Do you love Pixar films? Have you ever wondered what makes them sooo good? In this one-day workshop, we’ll learn and apply the craft of Pixar’s storytelling success to our own creative writing. We’ll begin by analyzing and comparing scenes from beloved Pixar films like The Incredibles, Up, Finding Dory (and more!) to classic and contemporary works of fiction and discover their shared storytelling strategies. Then, through a series of fun, directed writing exercises, we’ll apply those strategies--plus the 22 rules for crafting a story at Pixar--to our own writing. By the end of class, you’ll know what the master storytellers at Pixar already know and how to use that knowledge for any story you want to tell.
