Summer Sundays: Sessions for Creative Discovery

Class Description

Create

Join us every other Sunday this summer for an hour and a half of literary inspiration. Designed for writers at all experience levels who overthink their creative process, these sessions will focus on discovering the unexpected creative gems you can produce if you stay in the moment, embrace experimentation, and release yourself from the pressures of producing something “perfect” every time you come to the page.

This will be a welcoming, low-stakes, freeform community writing circle, where we focus on exploration, creative confidence building, and a celebratory focus on what we can uncover in our creative selves when we release some of the constant self-pressures of being great on the page at every moment.

Students can expect writing prompts, creative detours, and collaborative exercise building. Writers should come out of this experience with more openness rather than tightness in their general writing approach, and a toolkit of tips on how to incorporate this free-flowing technique to actually make them more productive in the rest of their writing lives.

Driving to the center? For evening or weekend classes, we recommend SP+ Parking at 45 Binford Street for the most affordable parking around. It's about a 10-minute walk to GrubStreet and offers a flat rate of:

$8 after 4pm Monday-Friday

$5 all day Saturday-Sunday

Writing Roadmap: We've created a simple, goal-based writing roadmap to help you find the perfect GrubStreet course for your writing needs.
