Class Description
You've heard about Scrivener, the software that helps writers get organized. Maybe you've downloaded the free trial and poked around before getting overwhelmed by all the bells and whistles. Or maybe you're already using it, but suspect you could be getting a lot more out of it, or want a refresher. This class is for you!
Whether you're just starting out on a book-length work or you're deep into your twentieth revision, Scrivener can help you organize your thoughts, improve your writing process, and finish your manuscript. In this four-week online class, you will learn not only how to use Scrivener, but how to customize it to best suit your particular project, and improve your writing process. Each week will be dedicated to a different area of Scrivener –– the binder, the editor, and the inspector –– and then practicing and applying the skills we learn to our own projects, with the last week dedicated to learning how to compile and back up our work, and coming up with a management plan and next steps for our own projects.
You will leave with a fuller understanding of what tools are best for your project and a get the most out of your writing, and a roadmap for your own project. Best of all, students in this class will also receive a 20% discount on Scrivener software!
*NOTE that while our handy dandy "Schedule" tab states a 6-7pm class time, there are actually no live meetings for this class! Assignments will be given on a weekly basis. Students will have access to the online class portal starting at 5pm on the first day of class. Instructions for logging onto the online portal will be emailed to registered students before 5pm the first day of class.
