Class Description

We've entered a new golden age of film television, thanks to shows like Breaking Bad, Orange Is the New Black, and Veep, films like Tangerine, Brick, Moonlight, and Get Out and because of new platforms like Netflix and Amazon (and now even Yahoo!?), there is a need for unique content like never before. Whether you’ve always dreamed of writing for film and TV or just want to break out of your comfort zone and try something new, this class will take you through the process of developing a film or TV series from inception, to outline, to script. We will discuss the elements of a good film or series, and then we will put those elements to work. Each student will develop his or her own film or TV series from the ground up and begin writing the screenplay. Students will come away with a better understanding of the inner workings of film and television and a large portion of a pilot/script for a viable show or film.
