Class Description
Let’s take your first draft one step closer to its final draft. Whether your novel is complete or you only have a few chapters, this multi-week course will provide you with tools and techniques to revise your writing to the next level. Each week will include a short lecture on various craft elements, practical exercises for and examples of a well-crafted story, groups discussions, and, of course, revision strategies. These strategies will address everything from common mistakes and the “murky middles” to those stubborn story hiccups that won’t go away. At the end of the course, each student will have the opportunity to submit 5-10 revised pages for individual critique from the instructor. Novels of all genres are welcome.

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
