Class Description
Students will also write a short piece each week in connection with the readings, using the excerpts as jumping-off points to experiment with different ways of writing and thinking about historical fiction. These pieces can be related to the students’ larger projects or stand alone as short stories, and we will share and discuss them in class each week. By the end of the course, students will have a firm grasp of the conventions, challenges, and range of possibilities within the genre of historical fiction.
This class will take place in-person at our Center for Creative Writing in Boston's Seaport neighborhood.

Scholarship Information
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
