Class Description

Flash fiction is an exciting and increasingly popular story form that pushes its writers to be innovative and compressed. In this course for beginning flash fiction writers, you will create six stories of between 25 and 500 words each, inspired every week by a different prompt. As feedback is a vital part of the course, students will have a weekly opportunity to receive written peer and instructor review of the stories they post for the group, and to use such feedback for redrafting, as they see fit. Expect guidance on crafting this unique form, as well as live virtual workshops of two of your flash fictions. The goal of the course is to write six redrafted flash fiction stories. At the end of the six weeks, students will be invited to submit fresh drafts of their final six stories for instructor feedback.
