Class Description
What makes a story’s ending memorable? Getting the right ending can be elusive, but it begins with this: a satisfying ending is not about closure; it’s about resonance. In this advanced seminar, we will look at tools and techniques to pull a powerful ending together: paying off the important stuff, and ensuring it lands with readers. We will discuss examples from writers such as Dylan Landis, Tessa Mellas, and Robert Lopez. In-class exercises and practical takeaways will ensure you have the means to apply these tools going forward. Primarily geared to short story writers, this could apply for all narrative writers.

Class Format
This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
Scholarship Information

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
