WDtS Grove Hall: Ask-A-Writer Office Hours

No Longer Enrolling

Class Description

These office hours are open to anyone who wishes to ask an instructor questions about a creative writing project, resources, opportunities, upcoming classes, and general writing tips. Feel free to bring 1 page of your work with you to the Office Hours for a light review/discussion. (Depending on the size of the group, we can cover more pages or adapt to respond to as many students as possible.) These sessions can also be used simply to chat about your writing goals or questions. Whatever works for you--open to all levels and experience!

Who Should Register?

Write Down the Street has a special focus on making the creative writing workshop more accessible to those who face challenges due to cost, language skills, lack of access to transportation, and other barriers. We believe that all voices must be spotlighted with the range and fullness they deserve.

These programs are offered tuition-free thanks to the support of generous donors who are committed to our mission of ensuring all voices are heard.

Please note that these sessions will be conducted in a group setting, and that you may be sharing time and work with a number of other students. At this time, we aren't able to read and respond to more than one page of writing or read manuscripts outside of Office Hours, but we are exploring these options for the future! Keep checking back for updates and additions to our programming.

Scholarships Format/Location

Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
