Class Description
Through dialogue, readings, and self-reflection we will begin to explore the concept of age in order to better understand ourselves, each other, and the world in which we live. This ninety-minute class will require all participants to commit to creating a safe and supportive container so that writers can create and share bravely and authentically. Participants will leave with the first draft of a poem or personal essay, and will get the opportunity to share their work in progress and receive on-the-spot feedback from the instructor and peers (clear guidelines for feedback will be given and strictly enforced). All ages are welcome; participants under eighteen must be accompanied by an older relative.
*This is the second course in our nine part series on identity; each course stands alone but will build on the others. Take a couple or take all nine!*
Families welcome. Coffee and snacks provided. Teens are welcome to attend with an older relative. We will provide simple activities to keep young children occupied.
Who Should Register?

These programs are offered tuition-free thanks to the support of generous donors who are committed to our mission of ensuring all voices are heard.
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class.
