Class Description

Feeling unsure as to how to approach your query letter or pitch? Or maybe you’d like to refine what you’ve been using? This alumni-exclusive session, led by Literary Agent Kaitlyn Katsoupis, will provide a nuanced and detailed overview of query letters and what makes them successful, as well as how to properly craft a one-sentence pitch. There will be tips and strategies, do’s and don’ts, group discussion, one-the-spot critique of short pitches, and a Q&A to close out the session.
NOTE: Kaitlyn is also offering a series of add-on services, which you can request using this form (alums must have registered to one of her seminars to request an add-on).
Add-ons include:
- A 30-min personalized video/phone call with her
- A query letter critique
- A book synopsis critique
- Full submission critique (query, synopsis, and first 10 manuscript pages)
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
