Class Description

In a world where the marginalization of narratives is a reality, it is difficult to overcome the dominant voices in the search for one’s own voice. The silence or absence that follows is not only detrimental to the self but also deprives the world of authentic and necessary voices.

In a free writing workshop at the Mattapan Branch of the Boston Public Library, we will explore the poetry of other writers and discuss effective ways to write about and celebrate identity.

Coffee and snacks provided. Families welcome. Activities provided for children. Questions? Call the GrubStreet office at 617-695-0075.
