Class Description

In a world where the marginalization of narratives is a reality, it is difficult to overcome the dominant voices in the search for one’s own voice. The silence or absence that follows is not only detrimental to the self but also deprives the world of authentic and necessary voices.

In a free writing workshop at the Mattapan Branch of the Boston Public Library, we will explore the poetry of other writers and discuss effective ways to write about and celebrate identity.

Coffee and snacks provided. Families welcome. Activities provided for children. Questions? Call the GrubStreet office at 617-695-0075.

Nan yon monn (monde) kote majinalize narasyon, pase istwa moun anba pye se yon reyalite, li difisil pou simonte vwa dominan yo lè wap chèche pwòp vwa pa ou. Rezilta silans oswa absans sa a pa sèlman detwi ou kraze moral, men tou, li anpeche vwa otantik, vwa natif natal ki nesesè yo pèse lan monn la.

Nan Branch Bibliyotèk Piblik Boston ki Mattapan la, ap gen on atelye(workshop) gratis kote na p esplore pwezi lòt ekriven. Lan atelye sa a, n ap diskite tou fason efikas pou ekri sou idantite epi selebre aspè sa a.

Ap gen kafe ak ti goute. Fanmi yo ap labyenveni. Ap gen aktivite pou timoun yo. Si ou gen kesyon, rele biwo GrubStreet nan 617-695-0075.
