Class Description
Do you have a short story that you’re eager to share with the world but feel overwhelmed by the intricacies of the publishing process? Do you dream of seeing your work in print but don’t know where to start or how to make your mark in today’s competitive market?
How to Get Published in Short Fiction will offer guidance through and resources for navigating the online and print literary magazine submission process. We will discuss the nuts and bolts practicalities (submitting platforms such as Submittable, the function of author bios and cover letters etc). We will also talk through identifying literary magazines for your work; leveraging social media as one way to deepen your knowledge of publishing standards and trends, and the evolving expectations of magazine editors and readers, and more.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a clearer picture of how to identify open opportunities that align with your writing. You’ll come away with your strategic approach for sending out your work for publication. We’ll also highlight additional resources and future workshops to further support your writing journey.

Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
