Class Description

You have the passion to write, but do you struggle with consistency? Maybe you’ve started projects only to abandon them, or you find it difficult to carve out time in your busy schedule. The truth is, great writing comes from a balance of inspiration and building a sustainable writing habit.
In the span of three hours, you’ll learn practical strategies to make writing a regular part of your life. We’ll explore techniques for overcoming procrastination, setting realistic goals, and creating a writing routine that works for you. Whether you’re juggling a full-time job, family responsibilities, or other creative pursuits, you’ll leave with concrete tools to keep your writing momentum going.
By the end of this session, you’ll have a personalized plan for integrating writing into your daily or weekly routine, a set of motivating techniques to keep you going, and insight into how a writing community can support your growth. You’ll also learn about upcoming GrubStreet workshops–and writing groups!–that can help you stay on track.

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
