Class Description

Leave your preconceptions about stuffy literary readings -- and busted drag shows -- at the door. This very special night of live music and literature begins with four flash readings by prominent authors, headlined by National Book Award winner and international bestseller Colum McCann and including debut literary phenom Kaitlyn Greenidge. Your host and main performer will be Martha Graham Cracker, The Drag Queen King of Philadelphia, who regularly sells out Joe's Pub in NYC and has been profiled by PBS, TimeOut New York and Philadelphia magazine. There's no lip synching, just Martha's incredible voice, dancing, top-notch four-piece live band, and larger-than-average...vocabulary. More on Martha here. And here. Held at Villa Victoria Center for the Arts in the South End. Cash Bar. Muse and the Marketplace conference attendees get special advance discounted tickets, but the event is open to all. This 21+ event will sell out, so get your tickets now. With gratitude for the funding support provided by the Literary Cultural District's "Construction of Self" series.
