Class Description
Do you have a pile (or virtual file) of abandoned story drafts or poems? One quarter of a memoir or novel manuscript that you're still not sure what to do with? In this generative class, we'll act as gardeners, using those old drafts as compost in order to create fertile ground for new pieces.
This is not a revision seminar; instead, you'll come to class with one or more pieces you're ready to look at from a whole new angle, and we'll complete a series of exercises designed to transform our old material into new inspiration. You'll leave class inspired to recycle, repurpose, and reinvent, with the beginnings for one or more new pieces.
Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.
