Novel Incubator 2024-2025

No Longer Enrolling

  • Tuition: See Course Description

Class Description

*NOTE: Only accepted students should register for this class after they have been invited to do so by the program director.*

Class Description

The Novel Incubator is a competitive and affordable MFA-level course, spanning 12 months, for ten fiction writers interested in deep revision of their novel drafts, a comprehensive craft-based study of the novel form, and a thoughtful introduction to the publishing world. Specifically designed to support writers on full-length novel projects in a way that doesn’t require previous creative writing degrees or extensive experience. Some writing workshop/feedback experience is preferred, but the main criteria for this program is the novel draft’s quality and potential, and the writer’s commitment to contributing to a supportive and strong writing community willing to learn from and challenge one another in positive ways.

The application period for the 2024-2025 program is now closed. The application period for the next class will open in November or December. Writers from historically marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply. Questions? Contact [email protected] at any time.

Special Note: Tuition for this class is $8595. Fellowships/scholarships ranging from 25% to 75% of tuition are available and included as part of the standard application process. Deposits and payment plan timelines are scheduled individually with accepted students through our Finance department at [email protected]

Many thanks!
