About Rishi
Rishi Reddi is the PEN New England Award winning author of Karma and Other Stories, and Passage West, a Los Angeles Times Best California Book of 2020. She serves on the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) Board of Directors, which selects annual NBCC prize winners. Her short stories have appeared in Best American Short Stories, aired on National Public Radio’s Selected Shorts, received honorable mention in the Pushcart Prize, and been chosen for Boston Book Festival’s One City One Story. Her essays, translations and book reviews have appeared in New York Times Magazine, Kirkus Reviews, Partisan Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, and Literary Hub, among others. She has received fellowships from Bread Loaf, MacDowell Colony, Massachusetts Cultural Council, the U.S. Department of State and the National Book Critics Circle. Rishi has taught seminars at Grubstreet and Boston University in the craft of fiction. Her life experience, and long professional career as an environmental lawyer and climate policy-maker, afford special insight on immigration, social justice, law, and climate and environment. Born in Hyderabad, India, she grew up in the United Kingdom and several regions of the United States, and is a long-time resident of Cambridge, MA.
