About Jane
Jane Roper is the author of the novel The Society of Shame, which was a finalist for the Thurber Prize in American Humor in Writing, and a memoir, Double Time: How I Survived–and Mostly Thrived–Through the First Three Years of Mothering Twins. Her essays and humor have appeared in Salon, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Millions, Lit Hub, Poets & Writers, The Rumpus, Cognoscenti, Writers’ Digest and elsewhere. She has taught writing at GrubStreet, Follow Your Art Community Studios, The Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop, The University of Iowa, the Sanibel Writers’ Conference, and The Muse & The Marketplace. She is also a freelance copywriter and brand strategist. Areas of interest: Personal writing of any sort, including memoir, essays, and help developing your blog or Substack.
