Have you ever wanted to write a novel but didn't know where to start? Or maybe you have a great idea but need some feedback? Our first novel writing camp for teens will give you a behind-the scenes-look at how to write a novel. With fun writing exercises and excerpts from published novels, we'll explore the various building blocks of a novel: from finding a book-length idea, to developing strong characters and settings, to shaping a story arc that will keep readers turning pages. The class will include prompts, brainstorms, writing time, interactive activities, and a workshop where you’ll get feedback from your peers.  Wherever you're at in the writing process, you'll leave excited and inspired to complete your next novel. Limited to students aged 13-18.

Grub Street is happy to be able to offer a limited number of full scholarships for our teen writing camps. To apply for a scholarship, please complete and submit this online form describing why you want to take the teen writing camp and detailing your financial need. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is Friday, July 24th at 5pm.

*If you are registering on behalf of your teen, add their email information in the “For a Friend or Child?” field on the right-hand side of the screen before you check out. This will send them a direct link and reminder to create their own profile with GrubStreet.

(After adding the class to your cart, click "Checkout" and click “Add” next to “For a Friend or Child?” on the right-hand side to fill in their email. This is an easy way of linking the class to your child and encourages them to create their own account.)
