The Memoir Series: Seeing Yourself as a Character
55.00
One of the great challenges of writing personal memoirs and essays is being able to see yourself as a character in the story and not merely the person telling the story. Through lectures, in-class exercises, and close readings of successful personal writing, this course will give you the tools to create distance between the I-narrator and the I-character. We will also look at ways to create a compelling narrative voice and explore issues of likeability versus honesty and reliability. You will leave this class with new material and fresh insights into old material.
