Understanding one’s marketing options as a writer is critical to career longevity. Through readings, research, lecture, and discussion, this series of seminars will explore what marketing means for authors specifically; how to work within and outside the publishers’ marketing engine; and how to connect authentically with readers.

We will brainstorm and share ideas for how each student can implement these marketing tools into their own career. Students will come away from these seminars with in-depth strategies and ideas for embarking on their own marketing journey, no matter where they are in the publishing process.

In this session, we will discuss the importance of events and how they fit into a writer's marketing toolbox. This will include partnerships for virtual events; designing unique and impactful virtual events; collaborating with other artists; making the most of virtual networking; and integrating events into your other marketing strategies.
