In this six-week online course we will explore the dynamics of both storytelling and screenwriting. You will learn the conventions of screenwriting -- formatting, structure, dialogue, and conflict -- as well as how to craft a compelling narrative. We’ll support and reinforce those crucial screenwriting concepts with weekly exercises, and you’ll put these skills to use by kicking off a draft of your own original feature film or television series. We will discuss each other's scripts, and you’ll also receive instructor insight and feedback on story construction and the screenplay format. Expect to be put to work and learn a ton!

*Please note that while our handy dandy "Schedule" tab states a 6-7pm class time, there are actually no live meetings for this class! Assignments and deadlines will be given by your instructor. Students will have access to the online class portal starting at 5pm on the first day of class. Instructions for logging onto the online portal will be emailed to registered students before 5pm the first day of class.
