Sarah Khalil (Agent)

THE REGISTRATION LINK FOR SARAH KHALIL WILL ACTIVATE WHEN MANUSCRIPT MART REGISTRATION OPENS FOR GRUBSTREET MEMBERS ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, AT 1:00 PM EST.
Sarah represents serious nonfiction and memoir with a lens toward social, economic and environmental justice, anti-imperialist thought, pop/cultural criticism and histories, and cross-cultural narratives, all deeply explored by principled and authoritative writers and thinkers. Radical thought, artful storytelling and propulsive narrative are the cornerstones of her taste. She is also seeking select fiction in the same space.
Sarah oversees Calligraph’s internship program. She co-directs Literary Agents of Change’s Mentorship Program, a volunteer-run program founded by the Association of American Literary Agents which serves to increase the promotion and retention of historically underrepresented groups in the agenting profession. She is also on the Employer Advisory Board for Bunker Hill Community College's Humanities to Career Program.
Prior to Calligraph’s founding, Sarah was at Kneerim & Williams for four years, developing several of the agency’s best-selling and award-winning authors on the desks of Jill Kneerim and Katherine Flynn. She has worked at Beacon Press and the IP law firm Sennott, Williams, & Rogers. She holds an MA in Publishing & Writing from Emerson College and a BA in English Literature with a minor in History from the American University of Beirut.
