Kukuwa Fraser (she/her) is an editor at Flatiron Books, where she acquires literary, historical, and contemporary fiction, with a focus on amplifying stories by writers of color and historically underrepresented voices in literature. Prior to joining the team in 2020, Kukuwa worked with Writopia Lab, One Story Inc., the National Book Foundation, and received her MFA in fiction from New York University.

Zoom Meetings with Kukuwa will be scheduled within these time periods (all EDT), but are subject to change. If Kukuwa must make a change to this schedule, we will arrange a mutually agreeable Zoom time outside of Manuscript Mart Week.

What I'm Looking For
Literary, historical, and/or contemporary fiction that primarily centers a cast of nuanced, dynamic Black/Afro-identifying or BIPOC characters. Manuscripts by historically underrepresented voices, intergenerational stories, and fun, engaging narratives that have a balance of humor and heart at its core.
