What I'm Looking For
I'm looking for literary, sci-fi, and fantasy projects across age groups that provoke thought, that shine a light on injustice, that provide hope. In literary fiction, I love stories that challenge characters to face their fears, narratives that raise up voices that have been historically silenced, plots that reinterpret established tropes in unexpected ways.
In sci-fi and fantasy, I'm drawn to stories grounded in people's relationships and struggles, whether they finds themselves in the dark alleyways of cyberpunk data centers or in ancient forests. Send me found families commandeering star cruisers, renegade mages learning to control their powers, underdog scientists racing for cures, political dissidents on the run. If you're the new Jeff Vandermeer, Tamsyn Muir, or N.K. Jemisin, I hope to hear from you.
I love dark, atmospheric stories. Bonus points for a sense of humor. Most of all, I want books that sweep me off my feet, that invite me to dream.
Sample Titles or Authors
I am a newer agent without any previous publications, but I have worked on a variety of books during my time at Curtis Brown. Notable titles are the National Book Award finalist GATHER by Kenneth M. Cadow, THREE STRIKE SUMMER by Skyler Schrempp, and LULU DIDN'T WANT A DOG by Laurel Molk.
