What I'm Looking For
On a practical note, we generally run essays and stories that are on about five to fifteen pages. But beyond that, we are looking for work that displays a familiarity with contemporary styles, but that aims for the most traditional goals of the writer, to entertain and move the reader.
Sample Titles or Authors
ZZ Packer "What's Done Is Done"
Melissa Faliveno "Driving Around Central Ohio in my Dad’s ’07 Chevy Listening to the CDs of my Youth"
Bennett Sims "Unknown"
Specializes In / Will Consider
We are looking for fiction, nonfiction and poetry. We look for pieces that surprise us, either in the sense of the writing being not quite like anything we've seen before, or taking a subject that is familiar and making it seem new again.
