PSB: Boston Cookbook Club

New

Event Description

PSB presents a book club for foodies and chefs of any skill level! Every other month we will get together to share dishes from and discuss a cookbook that we pick out.

This month's book is Good Things: Recipes and Rituals to Share with People You Love by Samin Nosrat!

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Everyone grabs a copy of the cookbook chosen
  2. Over the course of the 1-2 months we read and use the book
  3. Everyone makes a recipe from the book and brings it in to the book club
  4. We share our food and discuss our experience(s) with the book, thoughts on it, and talk about the food we made
  5. We as a group pick out the next book we will cover!

Given the nature of cookbooks, engage with the title at whichever level you like! Just be sure to bring in an item you made to share with everyone!

IMPORTANT INFO

We meet on the second floor of Porter Square Books: Boston Edition in the GrubStreet community lounge!

The space we will be meeting in is nut-free, so please refrain from making any recipes that use them. For accessibility reasons, the books we choose should have some options for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free diets, though members can bring whatever item from the book they wish as long as it's nut-free.

If any substitutions are made, please make note of them for dietary and allergen related reasons.

The space features an oven and microwave for reheating purposes.

Format/Location

This class will take place in-person at our Center for Creative Writing in Boston's Seaport neighborhood.

Covid-19 Update:

GrubStreet's space will be mask-optional when Boston's Covid-19 Community Level is low or medium. When the Covid-19 Community Level is high, our space will require masks. Please check GrubStreet's Covid-19 page for the latest info on masking and Community Levels before visiting in person.
