Event Description
If you’ve ever wondered about the process of finding an agent, what happens after you’ve secured representation, and what working with an agent during the book submission process looks like, this session is for you. Literary Agent Reiko Davis (DeFiore & Company) and her client, award-winning author Devi Laskar, will offer their perspective on the aforementioned areas, and do a deep dive into the professional relationship between agent and writer. They will also offer tips and advice for those who are in the process of querying agents or are considering it as an option in the future. The conversation will be moderated by Boston Writers of Color Group long-time member Roz Wiggins. An audience Q&A will be taking place during the last 15 mins of the session.

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
