We asked Akemi how her time in the GrubStreet Essay Incubator influenced her accomplishment:

"The Essay Incubator encouraged me to take my own writing more seriously thanks to Ethan's guidance and my classmates' attentive feedback. I gained the motivation to finish pieces that I'd started years before, and I learned so much about the publication process, including how to pitch an idea, write a cover letter, and find opportunities to publish. "
