Class Description
Are you ready to immerse yourself in your big project this Manuscript Month? This 4-week creative writing session is designed for writers who are serious about expanding and refining their work, and making progress toward publication. Whether you’re working on a novel, short story collection, memoir, poetry collection, chapbook, or wild compilation of experimental/hybrid/multimedia pieces, this session offers a dedicated space to focus on your manuscript with the support and camaraderie of writers who are in the same boat.
Each week, writers will engage in reflective writing exercises; work on their respective projects in digestible writing sprints; share the challenges and successes of writing a manuscript; and read short excerpts of their work and receive light, encouraging feedback from their peers.
This session is not for writers who want to generate manuscript ideas from scratch, but rather for those who have already cultivated their own direction for a project. Writers interested in joining this session should have at least the beginnings of a manuscript, whether that be an outline, clear vision, a rough draft, or a nearly-final draft.
Join us and get the regular accountability, structure, and community you need to really push your long-form project forward!

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
