Class Description
Serious writers want to push their work from good to great. If you’ve taken one or more GrubStreet classes already and want to refine, revise, and push your work to the next level, then this class if for you.
Each student should come prepared with one story draft (fiction or nonfiction) and perhaps two or three other pieces in various states of completion. This class will focus on expanding current pieces, experimenting with form and approaches, and workshopping pieces in small and big ways. This class also includes a writing day where students will work on revision, conduct peer-to-peer workshop, and meet with the instructor for one-on-one coaching sessions.
By the end of this class, students will have a stronger vision for what it means to have “publication ready” work, and clear plan of action in how to get their own pieces closer to that state. Writing notebooks will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Feel free to bring a laptop/tablet, but it is not required in the least. For writers age 13 - 18 ONLY.
