Class Description

We've entered a new golden age of television, thanks to shows like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Orange Is the New Black, and Veep, and because of new content creators like Netflix and Amazon (and now even Yahoo!?), there is a need for unique content like never before.

Whether you’ve always dreamed of writing for TV or just want to break out of your comfort zone and try something new, this class will take you through the process of developing a TV series from inception to story bible to pilot. We will discuss the elements of a good series, the elements of a compelling pilot, and then we will put those elements to work. Each student will develop his or her own TV series from the ground up and begin writing the show's pilot.

Students will come away with a better understanding of the inner workings of television and a large portion of a pilot for a viable television series.
