Class Description

Got an unfinished novel or memoir you'd like to get back to but haven't found the energy because it's been so long you've forgotten everything that happened in it? So do I! In this class, through a series of exercises, we will refamiliarize ourselves with our lost loves and get back to a place where we can start working on them regularly again. We'll work together to recall everything we can remember about our respective books, creating outlines, synopses, and character summaries, and we'll use these to dive back into our books, chapter by chapter, and finish them. Class time will be spent on writing and on discussing our work through guided questions such as: Which plot path is best? What should happen next? Do the characters seem real? On the last class session, we will commit to a writing schedule and set up a Google Group to hold each other accountable after the class is over. There will be little outside reading or workshopping, aside from encouraging, on-the-spot feedback and discussion. The goal is simple: to get back to writing and keep writing until a solid draft of the book is done.

NOTE: This class will not take place on Sunday, October 12th, 2014.
